Meet Dr. Wendy Wells, D.M.D.

Dr Wendy Wells was born in Evanston, Illinois about 1 mile north of Chicago's Howard St. Her father was a letter carrier and her mother was a homemaker. She has always been interested in dentistry because so many of her family members suffered from dental problems. Dr Wells graduated from Evanston Township High School, and then attended Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois. She graduated with a B.A. in biology. She moved to southern Illinois, and applied to only one dental school and was accepted. Dr. Wells attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and graduated in 1992 with a DMD degree, Doctor of Dental Medicine. While attending dental school, Dr. Wells received a community dentistry and public health award from The American Association of Public Health Dentistry for volunteering at a shelter for abused / neglected women and children. Upon graduation, Dr. Wells decided to move to northern Illinois, but not to the congestion of the Chicago area. She began practicing dentistry in the Mt Carroll / Savanna area. After working for several dentists in the Sauk Valley region, she bought Dr. John Readel's practice in May 2004. During this time Dr. Wells attended The Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dentistry and completed the full mouth reconstruction regime. She built a new building at 1840 First Ave., in Sterling, IL. and moved in October 2007. Dr. Wells enjoys being a mother and a dentist and loves to create and / or enhance beautiful smiles and to help relieve suffering from tooth pain. She also enjoys her pets, exercising, reading, dancing, spelunking, and walking her dog and baby to the park. Dr. Wells resides in Sterling with her family and pets. Dr. Wells is an active member of The American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and The Whiteside-Lee Dental Society.
